Confirmation Overview
We will be starting in September!
Every youth will choose a mentor to walk along side them for the confirmation journey. Mentors are discussion partners for the youth as they encounter new ideas and are challenged in their faith. They should be members of the Nardin Park faith family and be willing/able to spend time with the youth for an hour every week during this time frame. Be creative with how you spend your time- if you're traveling try Skype or Google+ Hang Out, participate in a service project together, or go bowling!
As we grow in our faith we begin to experience more of the radical love of God that demands to be shared with the world. With that in mind, each confirmand will be required to complete 20 hours of community service throughout the year. If it is in service of God and is making the world a better place then it counts!
Worship of God is central to the Christian life. This is why confirmands will be attending a minimum of 4 worship services during Confirmation. It is preferred that 3 of these worship experiences take place at Nardin, however, if you are on vacation or sleeping at a friends house worship where you are! You will be expected to participate in one worship service that is not in the United Methodist Church tradition as a means of experiencing God in a different setting.
Developing faith practices is an important part of the faith journey. Confirmands will have the opportunity to experience different faith practices throughout the class. These practices will be done both at home and in the small group setting.
